Every family has traditions and the Puppione family has a very special one. According to Chris Puppione, “Nothing on earth marks the time quite like a wine.” With two barrels, one ton of fruit, and a little help from their friends, they launched Puppione Family Wines in 2017.

Their first wine, 2017 “Ariya” Syrah Russian River Valley, is named after their daughter and marks the year that she was born. With each following vintage, the Puppiones chronicle their family stories and capture them in the bottle.

• 2017 Puppione Family Wines “Ariya” Syrah Russian River Valley: The grapes for the 2017 Ariya Syrah were picked three months before the wine's namesake entered the world. The deep ruby-colored beauty pairs perfectly with charcuterie, kalamata olives, braised beef short ribs, or your favorite BBQ burger – both beef and veggie.

• 2018 Puppione Family Wines “Ariya” Syrah Russian River Valley: Just like their daughter experimented and tested in her first year, so did the Puppiones. As newly minted winemakers, they decided to craft the 2018 vintage with an Old World approach, resulting in a wine that displays vivacity and the signature aroma and flavors that make cool-climate Syrah so entrancing.The winemaker suggests pairing this vintage with foods like smoked eggplant, grilled lamb chops, and Carolina BBQ pork sliders.

We are so grateful to Chris and his family for sharing these wines with us. Chris is part of the Coravin family and we are the first commercial operation to carry his delicious wine. There are only 50 cases produced and the grapes are hand-harvested, sorted, and stomped. Shop these special bottles.
